Main documents necessary for exports to Arab countries

In order to simplify the many aspects that normally involve export transactions of Brazilian products to the Arab countries, a list of documents required is shown below:

Additional documents according to specific requirements previously requested by the Arab importer.

Declarations, contracts and biddings must be the original, signed and notarized versions or certified copies.

  • What is the purpose of certifying a document at the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce?

    It represents a form of guaranty for Arab importers and Brazilian exporters. It also gives the Arab Chamber a chance to carefully analyze all documents and ensure correct application of Arab importing norms and requirements. If there are any problems with the export documents, the Arab Chamber promptly acts to overcome difficulties and preserve the aptness of Brazilian and Arab businessmen.

    The Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce in São Paulo must certify all documents referring to the trade of goods or services with Arab countries before they are sent for legalization in the Arab Embassies or Consulates.

  • What is the importance of legalizing? Why should I legalize?

    In order to meet importer requirements and the laws of the country of destination, guaranteeing security and credibility and ensuring both exporters and importers clearance at customs in the destination country.

  • Why is the Certificate of Origin important?

    The Certificate of Origin is the document that proves the origin of the goods. The Arab Chamber provides a form approved by the General Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture in the Arab Countries, which should be completed by the exporter in English.

    However, the Arab Chamber may certify Certificates of Origin issued by:

    • a) The Industry Federations of the Brazilian States or the Agriculture Federations of the Brazilian States;
    • b) The Commerce Federations of the Brazilian States or the Commercial Associations of the Brazilian Municipalities, when the exporter is in the commercial sector;
    • c) Commercial and Industrial Associations of the Brazilian Municipalities, when the exporter is in the industrial or commercial sectors.
  • How much does document certification cost?

    Document certification costs shall be informed to the company or forwarding agent in charge of the documentation after an analysis of the documents and an expenses invoice shall be sent by email.

  • How may the exporter/forwarding agent have access to the payment receipts?

    Payment receipts are available on the website http://rastrear.ccab.org.br 24 hours after payment confirmation.

  • When is document certification available?

    Mondays to Fridays, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

  • How may I track my documents at the Certification Department online?

    The Arab Chamber provides an online tracking service throughout all phases of the process, from document delivery to shipment, at http://rastrear.ccab.org.br/intranet. Enter the login and password assigned with the payment invoice.

  • Which countries does the Arab Chamber represent?

    Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, Djibouti, Egypt, United Arab Emirates, Comoro Islands, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, *Libya, Morocco, Mauritania, Oman, Palestine, Syria, Somalia, **Sudan, Tunisia and Yemen.

  • In which language should the documents be for certification?

    Documents should be issued in English. Documents whose destination is Algeria or Morocco may be issued in French. For legalization at the Libyan Embassy, documents must have a certified translation in Arabic.
