Industrial output up 3.1% in Brazil

Production increased year-on-year in the third quarter, as per a survey conducted by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE). Thirteen out of 15 areas surveyed saw growth.
Rio de Janeiro – Industrial production was up 3.1% in Brazil year-on-year in the third quarter, driven by higher output in 13 out of 15 areas tracked by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE).
The numbers are from the monthly output survey Pesquisa Industrial Mensal Produção Física – Regional made public this Wednesday (8). The growth seen in Q3 is the highest since 5.1% in Q2 2013.
Production was up 1.2% in Q1 and 0.3% in Q2, after having shrunk for eleven quarters on end.
