Markets inflation forecast eases

Expectations from financial institutions polled by the Brazilian Central Bank for the Extended Consumer Price Index (IPCA) dropped from 7.26% to 7.21%.
Brasília – Financial institutions responding to a weekly Brazilian Central Bank poll expect inflation to be 7.21% this year, down from 7.26% as of last week. The projection for 2017 changed from 5.30% to 5.29%. The estimates are part of the Focus Bulletin released this Monday (25) by the Central Bank.
The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) contraction expectation changed from 3.25% to 3.27% for this year, and remained at 1.1% for 2017.
The US dollar price forecast for the end of the year moved from BRL 3.39 to BRL 3.34 and stayed at BRL 3.50 for the end of 2017.
