São Paulo – Business owners from Qatar are searching for business opportunities in Brazil’s tourism sector. The topic was discussed in a meeting between the Arab country’s ambassador in Brasília, Mohammed Al-Hayki, and the national secretary of Tourism Structuring of the Ministry of Tourism (MTur), José Antônio Parente, published the website of the ministry this Tuesday (17).
According to Al-Hayki, the Qataris are interested in luxury hotels and theme parks, to serve international visitors with high purchasing power. They are focusing on Foz do Iguaçu (PR), Pantanal and the Northeast region.
For the MTur’s secretary, the foreign investment is welcome in the sector. “It’s opening doors to new markets. Qatar is betting heavily in the expansion of foreign trade, so we can expand business in Brazil and also attract tourists to our country,” said Parente to the ministry’s website.
