São Paulo – The Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce will hold the Brazilian Festival marketing week from September 6 to 9, in Egypt. The event will take place in the city of Giza, inside a Hyper One store, one of the main supermarket chains in the Arab country. The initiative has the support of Brazil’s embassy in Cairo.
Brazilian companies that are interested in being a part of it have until August 5 to register. According to Tamer Mansour, manager of Government Relations of the Arab Chamber, companies from the foodstuffs, cosmetics, footwear and apparel sectors can participate.
“It’s a great opportunity for companies to exhibit their products over there, since we’re very close of the signing of the free trade agreement between Mercosur and Egypt, which can open new routes to Brazilian companies. Egypt’s economy is going strong right now and we need to be aware to enter the market”, he says.
The executive also underscores the good relations between the two countries and says that this can benefit sales of Brazilian products. “Egypt and Brazil have very strong economic ties. It’s also a good idea to exhibit (Brazilian products) and strengthen the cultural ties through other events, such as Brazilian food tastings”, he added.
In addition to the marketing of Brazilian products, which will be placed in a special exhibition space at the Hyper One store, the Brazilian companies participating in the Brazilian Festival will have meetings with Egyptian importers scheduled according to their exporting profiles.
On September 6, there will be a barbecue party to open the event with the presence of Brazilian ambassador in Egypt, Ruy Pacheco de Azevedo Amaral, besides representatives of the Egyptian government. On September 9, to end the marketing week, there will be a tasting with typical Brazilian delicacies.
In 2014, the Arab Chamber organized a similar event at Sultan Center, in Kuwait. At the time, 150 Brazilian exhibitors introduced Brazilian products to consumers of the Arab country.
