The horse racing venue is hosting an event for the city’s Arab colony on Saturday (23), featuring special races and recreational activities for the families.

São Paulo – This Saturday (23), the São Paulo Jockey Club will pay tribute to the Arab community in Brazil. In the afternoon, there will be a race of Arabian thoroughbreds in partnership with the Brazilian Association of Arabian Horse Breeders (ABCCA) and a special English thoroughbreds race.

“The Arab community is very relevant in the city of São Paulo,” said Jockey Club board vice chairman Alessandro Arcangeli. According to him, the venue is looking to get closer to the Arab community.

The new board, which took office this year, is hosting events targeting different ethnical groups within the city.

There will be nine races at the Jockey Club on Saturday, including the two Arabian horse events, which will begin at 1:30 pm and are free of charge, the venue’s press office said.

Besides the races, food trucks will be selling sweet and savory items and drinks. Free attractions for children will include horseback rides and a recreational area where toys will be available and workshops will be given on a first-come, first-serve basis. Children under three years old must be accompanied.

The Jockey Club is a horse racing, leisure and entertainment venue. Besides green areas and leisure, the venue includes a race track and a training center that’s home to hundreds of race horses.
