Bicycle exports increased until August

International sales of the product increased 34% in the first eight months of the year over the same period of 2016, according to the sectors association Abraciclo. South America countries are the main destinations.
São Paulo – Brazilian bicycle exports are up 34.1% in the year’s first eight months, according to information released by the Brazilian Motorcycle, Moped and Bicycle Manufacturers Association (ABRACICLO), based on data from the Ministry of Industry, Foreign Trade and Services (MDIC).
Brazil exported 4,751 bicycles from January to August, against 3,542 units in the same period of last year. In August, 159 bicycles manufactured in Brazil were sent to the foreign market, from which 10 went to Argentina and 59 to Bolivia.
In August, 72,321 bicycles were manufactured by ABRACICLO’s member companies at the Manaus Industrial Hub (PIM). Volume was 11.3% higher than July and remained stable over the same month of last year. Year-to-date until August, there were 433,562 bicycles manufactured, down 3.7% over the same period of 2016.
