BNDES disbursements declined 20%

The Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES) disbursed USD 17.20 billion from January to October of this year.
Rio de Janeiro – The Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES) registered a 20% decline in disbursements from January to October 2017, compared to the same period of last year. According to the bank, BRL 55.1 billion (USD 17.20 billion) were disbursed. Approvals totaled BRL 54.4 billion (USD 16.98 billion), which represented a decline of 13% between January and October, 2017.
Micro, small and medium-sized companies accounted for 42.9% of disbursements in the period: according to the bank, BRL 23.6 billion (USD 7.37 billion) were disbursed to this sector, which kept an upward trend in the participation of this type of companies in the bank’s disbursements.
