06 de julho de 2016
Brasília - The prices of commodities – internationally traded basic goods – remained virtually stable in Brazil last month. The Brazil Commodities Index (IC-Br) computed monthly by the Brazilian Central Bank was up 0.01% in June from May. The index was up 935% in the 12 months ended June and down 4.62% year-to-date through June.
The IC-Br tracks price fluctuations in Brazilian currency of commodities that are relevant to domestic consumer price dynamics in the country.
Last month, energy commodities (oil, natural gas and coal) dropped 3.21%, while metals (aluminum, iron ore, copper, tin, zinc, lead and nickel) dropped 1.76%. The prices of agricultural commodities (beef, cotton, soya oil, wheat, sugar, maize, coffee, rice and pork) were up 0.79%.
