Energy generation is unevenly distributed

23 de junho de 2016

Rio de Janeiro – To overcome the imbalance and meet the energy demand in a continental country such as Brazil are the main challenges facing the energy distribution system concludes the research Energy Logistics 2015 – Networks and Flows of the Territory, done by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) and made public this Tuesday (23).

The document points to an excessive concentration in energy production, distribution and logistics in the country’s Southeast, South and parts of the Midwest. In the Southeast, for instance, Rio de Janeiro accounts for nearly 70% of oil production (68.4%) and 34.8% of natural gas production; followed by Espírito Santo, with 16.3% of oil production, and São Paulo, with 7.2%.
