Federal revenues increased 11% in August

Revenues reached USD 33.73 billion last month and totaled USD 279.27 billion in the years first eight months.
Brasília – Federal revenues totaled BRL 104.2 billion (USD 33.73 billion) in August, an increase of 10.78% over the same month of last year, with the numbers adjusted to the inflation as measured by the Extended National Consumer Price Index (IPCA). In the year’s first eight months, federal revenues reached BRL 862.739 (USD 279.27 billion), up 1.73% in comparison to the same period of 2016.
Considering only the amount managed by the Federal Revenue Service (such as taxes and contributions), revenues reached BRL 102.228 billion (USD 33.09 billion), up 10.64%. Year-to-date until last month, revenues managed by the Federal Revenue Service totaled BRL 837.872 (USD 271.22 billion), up 0.81%. Considering revenues managed by other departments (especially oil royalties), there was an increase of 18.69% in August and of 2.88% year-to-date.
