Industry confidence up for 3rd straight month

The confidence of industrialists in Brazil increased 1.6 point in July over the previous month, according to survey by the National Confederation of Industry (CNI).
Brasília – The confidence of industrialists went up in July, as shown by survey conducted by the National Confederation of Industry (CNI) and released this Friday (15). The sector’s confidence index stood at 47.3 points last month, which means an increase of 1.6 point over June.
It’s the third consecutive month in which the index goes up, piling up a growth of 10.5 points. Besides, in comparison to July 2015, the industrialists’ confidence increased 10.1 points.
Despite the performance, the index remains below the threshold line of 50 points. When the indicator is above this line, it means that the industry is confident, while below the line means uncertainty about the economy.
