The forecast from financial market players regarding how much prices will go up this year has widened again. Inflation is seen ending the year at 3.08%.
Brasília – The whole-year inflation estimate from Brazilian financial market players changed up for the fourth straight week this Monday (30). This time, the forecast for the Extended National Consumer Price Index (IPCA) moved up from 3.06% to 3.08%.
The estimate is released online by the Brazilian Central Bank on a weekly basis in the Focus Bulletin, which covers the main economic indicators. The 2018 IPCA forecast remains at 4.02% for the last three weeks.
The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth forecast also remained the same at 0.73% for 2017 and 2.5% for 2018.
