The event will also feature seminars, on two days, on subjects such as halal as a new source of growth in South America, and how to start a halal tourism business.

The expo’s opening will feature guests of honor including Asad Sajjad, the CEO of Gulf Halal Center, International Halal Center, and the United Arab Emirates’ Halal Development Council; and Jed Ben Hamda, the president of Tunisia’s L’Agence Halal.

The organizers are expecting visitors from 25-plus countries including Brazil, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Morocco, Chile, Bolivia, Argentina, Mexico, Colombia, Turkey, Malaysia, Indonesia, France and Pakistan etc.

Brazil is a major producer/exporter of halal products, specially beef and poultry. In 2015, USD 1.4 billion worth of beef were shipped from Brazil to the Arab countries, according to the Association of Brazilian Beef Exporters (Abiec).
