Official inflation: 0.32% in November preview

IPCA-15 slowed down in November, according to a preview of the index measured by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE). Result is 0.02 percentage point lower than in October.
Rio de Janeiro – The November preview of Brazil’s official inflation, as measured by the Extended National Consumer Index-15 (IPCA-15), slowed down slightly at 0.32%, 0.02 percentage point lower than October. In November 2016, the IPCA-15 had registered 0.26%.
The IPCA-15 data was released this Thursday (23) by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE). Year-to-date, the IPCA-15 went up 2.58%, lower than the 6.38% of the same period of 2016 and the lower for a year-to-date ending in November since the 1.52% registered in 1998. Year-over-year, it stands at 2.77%, above the 2.71% registered in the previously 12-month period.
