Brazil produced 3.28 million of barrels of oil equivalent per day, a lower volume than registered in July and August of last year.
São Paulo – Brazilian oil output in August stood at 2.576 million barrels daily, down 1.8% over July and 1.3% over August of last year, according to data released this Monday (2) by the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP).
The production of natural gas stood at 112 million cubic meters daily, down 2.8% over July and August 2016. Total output of oil and gas reached 3.28 million barrels of oil equivalent daily in August of this year.
According to the ANP, the reduction in volume occurred mainly due to scheduled downtime at rigs FPSO Cidade de Maricá and FPSO Cidade de Itaguaí, which extract oil and gas from the Lula field, in the pre-salt layer of the Santos Basin, in the southeast coastline of São Paulo state.
