Oil and gas production goes up

Brazil produced more than 3.1 million barrels of oil equivalent per day in May. Extraction in the pre-salt layer went up 15% and reached 1.15 million barrels a day.
Rio de Janeiro – Oil and gas production in Brazil in May reached 3.115 million barrels of oil equivalent per day, according to datareleased this Tuesday (5) by the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP). Oil production registered 2.487 million barrels a day, an increase of 8.6% in comparison to April and of 3.1% over the same month of last year.
Meanwhile, natural gas production recahed 99.8 million cubic meters a day, an increase of 4.2% over April and of 7.2% in comparison to the same month of 2015.
In May, oil and gas production in the 56 wells of the pre-salt layer was 1.146 million of barrels of oil equivalent a day, an increase of 15.2% over April. From this total, oil accounted for 928.900 barrels a day. Production of natural gas reached 34.5 million cubic meters a day.
