Services sector declined 4.5% in activity

It was the worst result for an April since 2012. The percentage refers to the volume of services. Nominal revenues increased 0.4%.
Rio de Janeiro – Throughout Brazil, the services sector’s volume declined 4.5% in April over the same month in 2015. It’s the worst result for an April since 2012. All the sectors experienced negative variations. However, in the same comparison, nominal revenues increased 0.4% after declining 0.4% in March.
The data was released this Wednesday (15) by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE). With April’s numbers, the services sector registered, in the first four months of the year (from January to April), a decline of 4.9% in volume and an increase of 0.5% in nominal revenues.
