Stock market down for fifth straight day

Ibovespa dropped 0.79% this Monday. Meanwhile, the dollar climbed 1.87% and closed the day sold at BRL 3.584.

São Paulo – The São Paulo Stock Exchange (Bovespa) dropped this Monday (23), marking the fifth consecutive day of decline. The Ibovespa, the stock market’s main index, went down 0.79% over Friday and stood at 49,330.42 points. It’s the lowest level since April 7. The performance was driven down mainly by stocks of Petrobras and Banco do Brasil.

Meanwhile, the commercial dollar closed the day being sold at BRL 3.584, an appreciation of 1.87% over Friday, the highest value since April 18.
